Duppy Gun Man - Ernie Smith
Classic tune by Ernie Smith from 1974.
The song is about a time when he left a show with a girl to "get down to movement," and was run up on by a duppy (ghost or evil spirit) or a gun man, "I-man no find out yet." He ran away, leaving the girl - "the daughter name I forget."
The next day the girl asked him what happend - "just when you ready fi work your show, you get stage fright."
Finally, he tells the listener the moral of the story - "no try to run before your feet touch the ground."
