This is one of those special songs. I can almost picture some cartoon devil singing this song with his backing band on the bank of the river Styx under some red-tinted light. Its almost too intense. My wife listened to about two seconds and made me turn it off. I think its great, love the beat, his voice, and the marimba, as well as the gong.
It was written for a play called Woyzeck by Georg Buchner, loosely based on a Leipzig wigmaker who became a soldier, killed a women in a jealous rage, and was publicly beheaded.The play deals with social themes such as poverty, status and morality.
